Sunday Swap
You’re invited to the Moonwisp Collective's first Sunday Swap on Sunday, November 15, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Carmel, NY!
Also called a Farmer’s Market Swap, this type of gathering is gaining popularity on social media.
It’s a gathering of 8-12 people with light snacks, chatting, and sometimes a small craft - but the key part is that everyone brings homemade items to share. Each guest brings as many of their item as there are people attending, and then everyone leaves with as many items as there are guests!
(Search Instagram, TikTok, or even Pinterest for “Sunday Swap” and you’ll find all sorts of examples and ideas!)
What is a Sunday Swap?
If you already have something that you love to craft or bake, that’s great! You can also experiment with something new - just keep in mind everyone will know who brought what, so make sure it’s something you think would be nice to share. Some ideas you may find helpful (this is not at ALL exhaustive!):
Small loaves of bread, cookies, handpies
Flavored/infused olive oil
Homemade butter/compound butter
Homemade granola
Jarred soup/sauce
Spice mix/infused salt
Jam/jelly
Salt/sugar scrub
Sourdough starter
Small sewn, knitted, crocheted, felted, embroidered items (plushies, fabric bookmarks, scrunchies, dishcloths, cup cozy)
Bath bomb, lotion bars, soap
Handmade greeting cards, postcards, bookmarks
Plant cuttings/potted plants
Dried or fresh flower bouquets
Jewelry, keychain, magnets
Candle (poured, beeswax rolled, painted tapers)
Artwork
Photo prints (that you’ve drawn or taken, or that you’ve made/decorated the frame)
Simmer pot kit
If you aren’t sure if it’s appropriate, feel free ask! But it probably will be.
*On your application, we will ask for what you plan to make, and one or two back-ups. We will be avoiding duplicates, and limiting the number of food items.
What should I make?
Moonwisp requests that all potential guests complete an application form for every event. We use these applications to:
Ensure that we are providing a customized experience that is welcoming and engaging
Build a guest list that is harmonious and aligned
Design activities that will be fun, entertaining, and enriching
Cultivate a safe and inclusive environment
There are no right or wrong answers! We’re not grading anyone, or deciding someone isn’t “right” for a Moonwisp event. We are simply striving for each event to best serve our guests.
We will be reviewing applications as they are received, and will notify all applicants within two weeks of receipt.
If you have any questions before, during, or after you apply, please feel free to email info@moonwisp.org!
How do I attend?
Everything should be in a “grab-and-go” format! Most craft items will be like that already, but if it’s something that is delicate or fragile, consider bringing individual baggies or boxes or some other way to protect it.
If you’re bringing a food item, it should be packaged individually and in a grab and go format - bagged, bottled, canned, etc, so each guest can easily take home.
We will be printing display labels for items, along with any helpful information that you want to provide! We will email guests two weeks before the event to ask for what you want printed to go with your item. (Food items must include a list of ingredients, storage, and shelf-life.)
Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in! Guests should dress in whatever way makes them physically and emotionally comfortable. So if that means a ballgown or a tux, you do you! But sweatpants or leggings are also welcome. Please be aware that there will be photographs taken throughout the event for marketing purposes, as well as for use on the Moonwisp Collective website.
Light refreshments will be provided by Moonwisp, but guests are more than welcome to bring personal snacks or non-alcoholic drinks. (Dietary restrictions will be accommodated with advanced notice.)
Please note: the Moonwisp Collective does not permit drug usage under any circumstances.
What else do I need to bring or prepare?
As an introductory event, the Sunday Swap is free for guests!
Please note that future events will be paid events.
How much does it cost?
Think about giving yourself a little extra time then you think you might need for making your items! Foodstuffs probably need to be made closer to the party (though it depends on what it is!), but for other crafts, you might be better off starting early to make sure you have time to make enough, and not leave anyone out on party day.
Everyone is welcome to apply! We expect most applicants to be coming as individuals. However, if you would like to attend the event with friends, everyone in your group must complete an individual application. There is space on the application for additional information - please include your friends’ names there!
We will do our best to accommodate groups, but we do not guarantee participation unless you have booked the Moonwisp Collective to host a private event. If you will only attend with a friend, please also include that information.
Moonwisp Collective prioritizes community-building, so we encourage guests to be open to making new friends and connections.
Space is limited, so participation is not guaranteed. We encourage all interested individuals to apply as soon as possible for the best chance of attendance. All applicants will receive an email within two weeks of their application indicating whether or not they have been added to the guest list. (If you have not been selected for this event, we are happy to add you to a wait-list, recommend that you apply for future events, or discuss Moonwisp hosting a customized, private events!)
What else should I know?
